Before there’s a prototype.
The materials, microbial roles, and design decisions that still need to be explored.
A product concept needs more than an intended benefit. The sanitary napkin materials, organisms, and ways of incorporating microbes still need to be considered.
The timing of microbial activity remains open. The project should not assume that microbes would be live during use, activate only after disposal, or perform both roles through the same mechanism.
Degradation and vulvar wellbeing may need separate approaches. Specialist guidance, safety assessment, and performance testing would be needed before benefits could be established.
No product sketches or validated prototypes are being presented in this note. Future designs will be labelled according to their development stage when they are ready to share.
This project explores research questions. Intended product benefits have not been demonstrated.
